Who we are

Charlita is a language learning app operated by Martin Valovic. For anything about your data, write to hola@charlita.app.

What we store

Your email address, used only to sign you in. Your learning activity: answers, review schedule, streaks, placement results, saved words and the notes the tutor keeps about your mistakes. If you turn on notifications, a push subscription for your browser or device.

We do not run ads, we do not sell data and we do not track you across other sites.

Voice and AI features

When you practice pronunciation, your short voice clip is sent to Microsoft Azure for scoring and the score comes back. Charlita does not keep the recording. When you chat with the tutor or play a roleplay, those messages are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the reply.

Where it lives

Your account and learning data are stored with Supabase (database hosted in Canada). The site runs on Vercel. Crash reports go to Sentry (EU servers) so we can fix bugs. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend.

Your rights

In Settings you can download everything we hold about your learning as one file. You can also delete your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account and all of your data are removed. You can also email hola@charlita.app for any request.

Cookies

On the web, Charlita uses only the cookie that keeps you signed in. No analytics or advertising cookies.

Children

Charlita is intended for people aged 13 and over.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change applies.
